# European directives for the creation of low energy and low emission buildings

European Union has developed several regulations regarding the use of renewable energy sources in buildings, the achievement of nearly-zero energy buildings, the energy renovation in buildings and has proposed a new directive targeting in nearly-zero carbon emission buildings by the end of the decade.

These directives include:

a) DIRECTIVE 2010/31/EU OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL

b) DIRECTIVE (EU) 2018/2001 OF THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT AND OF THE COUNCIL
of 11 December 2018
on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources

c) COMMISSION RECOMMENDATION (EU) 2019/786
of 8 May 2019
on building renovation

d) REPORT on the proposal for a directive of the European Parliament and of the Council on the energy performance of buildings (recast)

amending Directive 2010/31/EU on the energy performance of buildings and Directive 2012/27/EU on energy efficiency
